Throughout the editing process we have been using a editing programme called Premier Pro. We use different tools to create our Thriller openings. The timeline along the bottom is the main part of the programme where we process all our captured footage to build up our film. This can become very difficult because its hard to keep it flowing smoothly throughout.

FILMING DIARY

12th December- Train Station Filming
This was the first day of our filming. We filmed at the trainstation using our female cast member walking down the roads and the different shots we have spoken about. We spent the whole day taking various different shots of the trains to set the scene for our Thriller.

12th December- Filming the Noticeboard
We then had to film on another day to capture some more footage too complete our filming side of the project. We set up the notice board in Chloes house (one of the members of our team). We used old scraps of newspapers and cut out pictures of peoples faces to build it up to create a suspicious atmosphere. We filmed a lot of closeups of peoples faces. We purposley havnt given a lot away in the opening to our Thriller. We wanted to create an enigma so that we can the audience would expect the unknown.

We asked 12 people within the ages of 16-18. These are the results we gathered.

As you can see from the results, the Thriller we produced showed an effective opening to our targertaudience. We asked our target group because they were the people we were most concerned about and who we wanted to fnd it effective.

The choice of music that we had on our Thriller was something we needed to make sure was effective because it creates suspense that we didn’t have much of through the use of camera angles. We wanted the music to be the main feature of our Thriller and help the Thriller to look good overall.

If we were to film our Thriller again, this is something i would consider changing. Even though some of the camera angles we used were effective, as you can see from the results, they could have been improved.

We wanted our opening Thriller to be confusing so that the audience would want to carry on watching it. We wanted to create a sense of mystery and tension in order to keep our audience engaged. Although, there were a few bad reviews on the confusion of the opening, the majority of people we asked found the confusing part of our Thriller effective.

There are various things with the Thriller opening that we could have changed, i feel that this would be to include a bit more action at the begining so that the audience will feel engaged and wanting to watch the rest of it.
